Mylène
She is there! Our little girl Mylène was born on Friday 23th September, 9:24AM. It was a long night before our little girl was finally there. It started at 1:00AM when Shiqi woke me up by shouting from the bathroom that her chorion was broken. After that, we immediately went to the hospital. The contractions started immediately and became stronger every time. I did not experience the actual birth, since Mylène came to this world with a Caesarean. But the process before Shiqi was taken to the operation room, has been difficult, very intense and unforgettable. Yet, as soon as we were holding the little girl in our arms, all was fine again, and we enjoyed being together so much!
Now, I feel that I can understand a little bit more of what it must be like to give birth to a child. And I think I agree with the opinion that a natural birth, if possible, should be prefered over a planned Caesarean. The process of giving birth is definitely not enjoyable, but without a doubt, worthwhile. To me, it felt like the final chapter of a nine month book, with the climax of the story on the very last page. I would not want to have missed it ... but it's an experience for a few times in a life time only, from my point of view.
During the rest of the weekend, we spend most of the time together, in the hospital, getting used to many new things, that will soon be part of our normal daily routine: changing diapers, feeding the baby, putting the baby to sleep, comforting her, and especially, just looking at her ... for hours.
I already found out that there is not much, which is more rewarding than being able to comfort your little baby. I definitely believe that the smile of your child is something that can make a bad day bright.
Now, on Sunday night, I am sitting behind my laptop in an empty appartment. I am already looking forward to tomorrow morning, when I will see my baby again. Only a few more days now, I hope, before Shiqi and Mylène will be coming home.
I can't wait!!

The memorandum of lovely Mylene birth is vivid.
So you can understand why the birth day is the day of Mom's difficult time in China:母难日。
